BMS Seniors Plan Trip
By: Becca Peachey

It is a tradition that before the end of each school year, high school seniors are, in their minds, done with school. Senioritis has finally kicked in and the students are ready for a refreshing break from school before their long awaited graduation.

One of the many benefits of a small school is the ability to take this much needed break. For the seniors at Belleville Mennonite this break comes in the form of a senior trip. Each year during the month of May, their final month of high school, the graduating class at Belleville Mennonite plans a week for themselves, making sure the end of the year papers and finals are the last things on their mind.

Belleville Mennonite’s Class of 2008 is planning their trip to Virginia Beach. The week-long trip includes days at Busch Gardens, Ocean Breeze Water Park, Motor World, and Williamsburg. Time will also be spent on an evening dinner cruise, at board walk music festivals, and relaxing on the beach. During the week, the class will be staying at their own oceanfront beach house which will provide many hours of final bonding opportunities.

The single requirement for Senior Trip planning is that there must be time allotted for a service project. The Class of ’08 has chosen to dedicate this time to a popular Virginia State Park, where they will be spending time maintaining the park’s appearance with various work projects.

Senior Danielle Strauser comments, “I’ve been looking forward to this trip all year. It (the trip) is the last thing we get to do together so I’m excited about spending time with my classmates, making some of our last memories together.”
