The Name is Bond... Wayne Bond 007
The first day of school the students were allowed to say something in assembly that they had all been waiting to say, "Bond! Wayne Bond! 007!"
Mr. Wayne Bond is a smiling new face seen often at Belleville Mennonite School. He was hired for the 2009-2010 school year as the superintendent.
Bond graduated from the Wheaton College Graduate School in Illinois. He knew even then that he wanted to be in Christian schools. Bond felt that "it is vitally important to address the spiritual aspect of the student learning." It is also important to him that students can live in a setting where they can do so openly and freely. To him it is a critical part of education.
Previous to B.M.S., Bond has worked as head administrator at Portersville Christian School in Portersville, Pa. He was also the head master of Grace Christian School in Bennington, Vermont and the secondary principal at Meadow Creek Christian School in Andover, Minnesota. At each school Bond expressed that he felt a calling. Concerning Grace Christian School, Bond states, "It was a new school that needed a strong background to establish it." In each school he felt that he could use his gifts and abilities to help where it was needed.
Bond first learned of B.M.S. through an organization called Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). On ACSI's webpage, B.M.S. listed the job opportunity for the superintendent position. In January 2009 he first became interested in B.M.S. "The Lord prompted me to call," Bond stated. When he talked with the school's search committee he felt very good and felt that the people loved the school and the Lord.
Now Bond loves his job at B.M.S., "I love the students and I enjoy interacting with the students and working at a strong educational program".
For the future of B.M.S. he hopes for a larger enrollment so "the school can grow and the programs can be made better."
Currently Bond lives in Reedsville with his wife Darla. Their son Nathaniel is attending Cedarville University in Ohio.
