Academics

Belleville Mennonite School is licensed by the Pennsylavania State Department and offers Bible based instruction from preschool through grade 12. We currently serve families from Mifflin, Juniata and Huntingdon counties. Through a combination of quality resources, teachers and parent involvement our students routinely far surpass national averages in standardized testing. Transportation is provided for students in kindergarten through 12th grade in Mifflin and portions of Huntingdon county and our cafeteria serves full meals every day.

We routinely evaluate and update our materials. In the past few years B.M.S. has spent thousands of dollars on a new reading, math, science materials and to provide classroom access to modern technology both for the teachers and the students. We provide a modern, monitored computer lab with internet access and strive to teach the skills our children need to compete in today's world including the time honored teachings of the Scriptures.

Study of the Bible is part of every grade level at Belleville Mennonite School. Students also participate in a routine schedule of Chapel programs that are design to instruct, motivate and praise our Lord.

Belleville Mennonite School also provides extra-curricular activities for those students who wish to do more. Our school is a member of the PIAA and fields teams in girls field hockey, boys soccer, and both boys and girls basketball. For the students who have an interest in performing, the high school also presents an annual musical for the community. Other activities our students have been a part of include, regional spelling bee competitions, speech meets, and educational field trips.

In keeping with the founding heritage of our school we also require students at various times during their enrollment at B.M.S. to serve others. Our high school conducts an annual service day in which they go out into the community and work for other people or organizations, our younger students often take part in programs to visit and interact with the elderly. We have often visited nursing homes and senior daycare centers to provide activities or programs for their clients.

In summary we at Belleville Mennonite School seek to work in conjunction with the parents and church to provide a "total" education for the young people who attend our school. Academics are certainly one priority but it is our belief that they do not fully prepare a young person to lead a full and God honoring life.
